Jalon Thompson brings steady, low-drama reliability to UNC’s secondary
In the 2025 season, North Carolina DB Jalon Thompson showed dependable rotational value with 9 total tackles and 2 passes broken up across 12 games, and his 5'11", 185-pound frame gives him a compact, physical profile for the slot or safety-adjacent work. He does not flash as a ballhawk yet, but the appeal is his steady coverage discipline, willingness to tackle, and clean, assignment-sound style that helps stabilize a defense. If you want a competitive, developmental defensive back rather than a headline grabber, he fits.
