Michigan State OF Brings Proven Big Ten Grit and Consistent Contact After 2024 Grizzlies Standout
Trent Rice, Michigan State's outfielder, is a high-intensity contact hitter who thrives in pressure, evidenced by his 2024 Grizzlies season where he played 55 of 58 games with a .253/.355/.356 batting line and 22 RBIs [1]. His 2026 Big Ten stats show continued reliability with a .254 average and .672 OPS across 30 games, including 14 doubles and 17 RBIs [4]. Rice's differentiator is his durability and game-day intensity—he rarely misses time and plays with a relentless, team-first mentality that coaches value for late-inning situations. While not a power threat (only 2 HR in 2024), his consistency and defensive versatility make him a solid fit for teams needing steady production and reliable outfield coverage without injury concerns.
