Cedric Benson was a bruising, high-volume workhorse for Texas
Benson starred at Texas from 2001–04 as a durable, downhill RB who produced 5,540 rushing yards and 64 rushing touchdowns, finishing as one of the most productive backs in school history.[4] His differentiator was workload tolerance and consistency: he logged four straight 1,000-yard seasons, won the 2004 Doak Walker Award, and delivered 25 career 100-yard games.[4] For a team, the appeal is a proven feature back with power, contact balance, and big-game résumé; the caution is that his career also included injury interruptions and off-field issues that affected availability.[3][5]
