Lauren Whitehurst brings veteran depth, captaincy, and transfer experience to JMU
Whitehurst’s value is more about trust and versatility than flashy box-score output: after transferring from Boston College, she redshirted at JMU, is one of the team’s four captains, and is recognized as a JMU Athletic Director Scholar Athlete. That combination suggests a mature, coachable frontcourt piece who likely adds locker-room stability, practice competitiveness, and system fit—exactly the kind of player a good team wants when it needs reliable glue rather than headline scoring.
