Eric Krumpe gives UNC Asheville a power-bat catcher with clutch pop
Krumpe is a redshirt junior catcher from Asheville who has shown useful right-handed power and timely production for UNC Asheville, including a home run and two RBIs in a March 7, 2026 win over Alabama A&M and a two-RBI game on April 21, 2026. In the 2025 season, he appeared in 14 games, hit two doubles, scored three runs, and flashed solid receiving value with a career-high seven putouts in one game. He looks like a gritty, local-fit depth piece with pop, but his bat has been more situational than everyday-impact so far.
