Zac Woodfin brings elite linebacker pedigree, but he’s a coach—not a current UAB player
Zac Woodfin’s UAB connection is as a former linebacker, not a current Blazers defender: he was the program’s all-time leading tackler with 372 career stops and posted a school-record 149 tackles in the 2003 season, earning first-team All-Conference USA honors in 2003 and 2004. He was widely described as a relentless, smart, tough run defender who improved in coverage, which is the kind of high-IQ, high-effort profile coaches love to build around. If you’re asking whether he’s a fit for your team today, the answer is as a leader and performance mind—not as an active player.
