Montana State’s do-it-all senior DB and special-teams spark
Petre looks like a classic Bobcats glue guy with upside: a 6-foot-1, 205-pound senior defensive back who played all 16 games in the 2025 season, delivered a career-high 10 tackles in the championship game, added pass breakups in the playoff win over Montana and against Northern Colorado, and even forced and recovered a fumble versus UNC. He stands out less as a pure stat stuffer and more as a high-motor, trustworthy defender and special-teams cornerstone, plus he’s an in-state Helena product with a team-first reputation and academic chops.
