Israel Battle brings veteran, inside-out linebacker toughness to The Citadel
Israel Battle is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker from Cedartown, Georgia, who has been with The Citadel program since his freshman season and was described as a quick learner with a bright future in the Bulldogs’ linebacker room. The best public data available in the sources gathered is older—his 2017 season included 14 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks across 11 games—so the clean takeaway is more about profile than fresh stat volume: he’s an experienced, physical defender with inside-linebacker versatility and a reputation for picking up schemes fast. If your team wants a smart, rugged linebacker who fits a disciplined, assignment-heavy defense, Battle’s style checks a lot of boxes.
