Minaker gives Cal State Bakersfield a steady left-handed starter with strikeout upside
Ethan Minaker has emerged as a reliable **left-handed starter** for Cal State Bakersfield, earning Big West Pitcher of the Week honors after six scoreless innings with three hits, one walk and three strikeouts against UC Riverside in 2026. Across the 2026 season, he has posted a **3.48 ERA** with **25 strikeouts in 44.0 innings**, showing a mix of command and run prevention that plays well in a rotation role. He also brings coach-friendly upside as a durable, strike-throwing arm with prior all-conference recognition and strong academic habits, making him a good fit for a team that values consistency and competitiveness.
