From Terrapins Sharpshooter to Caldwell Assistant Coach
Christie Marrone, a 5-6 guard who transferred from Virginia Tech (4.3 PPG, 1.5 APG in 2004-05) to Maryland in 2005-06, was praised by coach Brenda Frese as one of the team's elite three-point shooters with high school pedigree (1,800+ points, 202 threes); now in her fifth season as assistant coach at Caldwell for 2025-26, her differentiator is sharpshooting IQ and championship intensity from VT's NCAA run—ideal for teams needing a proven perimeter specialist or coach with Brooklyn grit and player development savvy.
