Illinois State’s slippery slot weapon keeps climbing
In the 2025 season, Dylan Lord emerged as a trustworthy slot target for Illinois State, finishing with 61 receptions for 573 yards and 3 touchdowns while starting 10 games. At 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, he wins with quickness, reliability, and good route feel rather than pure size—exactly the kind of chain-moving receiver who can punish space and stay calm in big moments. His 2024 season showed resilience too: after a season-ending injury, he came back to become a key piece for the Redbirds.
