Mercer’s Nyisha Taylor: A rim anchor whose value goes beyond the box score
Nyisha Taylor is the kind of center coaches like because she can change possessions without needing touches: rim protection, rebounding, physical interior presence, and the ability to make life harder for opposing post players. I couldn’t verify reliable public stat-leader or scouting data for her current Mercer season from the available results, so the safest read is role-based: if Mercer is leaning on her, it’s for size, toughness, and defensive stability more than flash. She looks like a fit for teams that value effort, paint defense, and screening over high-usage offense.
