Iona's Steady Dutch Guard with International Flair
Anouschka Meijer, the Amsterdam-born guard for Iona Gaels, brings reliable bench energy as a sophomore contributor, averaging 2.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists over 17.6 minutes per game in the 2021-22 season while playing all 15 games with six starts—highlighted by a 10-point outburst at Niagara. Her FIBA international experience with Netherlands adds poise and versatility as a combo guard, making her a low-risk, high-upside fit for teams seeking gritty role players with academic discipline (MAAC All-Academic honoree) and multi-faceted skills beyond the box score.
