WSU's Special Teams Sparkplug from the Late 2000s Era
Joshua Garrett, a reserve linebacker for the Washington State Cougars, earned a varsity letter in the 2009 season after appearing in 10 games primarily on special teams, where he notched 7 tackles (5 solo) and a pass breakup while securing second-team Pac-10 All-Academic honors for his classroom excellence. A high school standout from Tacoma with 72 tackles, 7 INTs, and SPSL Defensive Back of the Year accolades, Garrett's multi-tool athleticism (including track prowess) highlights his speed and tackling intensity—ideal for special teams depth or developmental LB roles on teams valuing versatile, high-motor players with no notable injury history.
