Southern Illinois DL Kendrick Young brings compact edge-to-edge grit
Kendrick Young is listed by Southern Illinois as a 6-foot-1, 240-pound sophomore defensive lineman for the 2026 season, and the available player pages do not show official college stat production yet[1][2]. What stands out is the frame-and-profile blend: he has the size to hold ground, the athletic compactness to fit multiple front looks, and the kind of developmental upside coaches usually like in a young DL who can grow into a more disruptive role[1][2]. If your team wants a tough, ascending lineman rather than a finished box-score monster, Young is worth a closer look.
