Veteran Auburn safety Marquise Gilbert brings size and depth to the secondary
Marquise Gilbert is a 6-2 safety whose biggest value is positional versatility and veteran depth, after arriving at Auburn as the nation’s No. 1 junior college safety prospect and logging impact playmaking at Hutchinson CC, where he totaled more than 50 tackles and 2 interceptions in two seasons. At Auburn, he has been used primarily as a backup/depth piece rather than a high-volume stat producer, so he’s more of a fit if you want a physical, experienced defensive back who can stabilize the room and contribute in multiple roles than a headline-grabbing turnover machine.
