Kendall Marshall was UNC’s elite table-setter, not a scorer
In the 2011-12 season, Kendall Marshall was the Tar Heels’ engine: he averaged 9.8 assists per game, led the ACC in assists, and set UNC’s single-season assists record with 351 while winning the 2012 Bob Cousy Award as the nation’s top point guard. His calling card was pure floor vision and control—he pushed pace, protected the ball well, and made teammates better—but he was much more of a pass-first organizer than a shot creator. If a team wants a calm, high-IQ distributor who can run an offense and keep it humming, he’s a fit; if it needs a scorer to carry late-clock possessions, not so much.
