Max Dean brings Aussie-leg consistency to WSU’s special teams
In the 2025 season at New Mexico State, Max Dean averaged 42.3 yards on 55 punts, placed 20 inside the 20, and flashed a season-long 59-yard boot; in Washington State’s 2026 opener, he opened with 4 punts for 183 yards (45.8 average). He looks like a fit for a team wanting a reliable field-position punter: experienced, steady, and already trusted for holding duties. The Aussie pipeline background also hints at a polished, repeatable operation rather than a raw power project.
