veteran HCU linebacker with a battled-through backstory
Montez Evans is a seasoned Houston Christian linebacker whose profile points to toughness and persistence more than flash: HCU’s roster notes he missed most of the 2019 season with an injury but still returned for the finale, a good sign of resilience. He brings value as a physical, experienced defender who has already earned a place in the program and fits best for teams that prize reliability, accountability, and special-teams-like edge over headline-grabbing stats. The stat line is thin in the available public data, but the differentiator here is grit—he looks like a high-floor, low-drama piece for a defense that needs grown-man football.
