Lefty scorer who brought instant perimeter punch to USC
In the 2001 season, Nate Hair was a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard for USC who offered an athletic, shot-creating perimeter threat and had already shown he could stretch the floor, posting the best three-point percentage on the team as a freshman (.403 in the 2000 season) and 5.2 points per game in Pac-10 play. He missed time in preseason with a knee tendon strain, so the main question was durability, but when healthy he looked like a useful fit for a team needing bench scoring, energy, and a guard who could create off the dribble.
