Utah's All-Pac-12 LB Who Transformed from Slow Starter to Defensive Anchor
Kavika Luafatasaga, an honorable mention All-Pac-12 linebacker for the Utah Utes, started 21 of 26 games in 2016-2017, evolving from a nonfactor early in 2016—criticized for looking slow—into a reliable starter with high intensity and football IQ that finally 'clicked' midseason (KSL.com). His differentiator? Gritty turnaround mentality, physicality in run defense, and Pac-12 pedigree make him a smart, undervalued fit for teams needing veteran LB depth—watch for pro potential if he stayed in college longer.
