Marquel De Lancey Brings Experienced Old Dominion Guard Play With Defensive Edge
De Lancey is a steady Old Dominion guard whose value comes more from toughness, organization, and two-way reliability than flash; in the latest available season data, he averaged 2.2 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 23.8 minutes per game, suggesting a role player trusted for structure and minutes rather than scoring volume. His background also points to a high-intensity, disciplined profile—Old Dominion notes his military connection and history-major mindset, which fits a grinder-type guard who can add maturity, effort, and team-first habits to a roster.[1][6]
