Lucia Popovici brings size and starting-center experience to Coastal Carolina
Popovici was viewed as a penciled-in starting center for Coastal Carolina, which points to a role built on interior size, reliability, and matchup value rather than high-volume scoring; in the 2003-04 season, she averaged 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds, suggesting a complementary post presence whose value comes from defense, positioning, and physicality. The available reporting is older and limited, but the key differentiator is clear: she projected as a trusted anchor in the paint, the kind of player a roster can use for stability, screens, and interior defense.
