high-upside freshman RHP with a legit winning pedigree
Sean McCabe looks like a classic “don’t sleep on this arm” freshman for Charleston: a 6-foot-2 right-hander who arrived with serious polish after being named the 2024 DC Gatorade Player of the Year and a Perfect Game top-30 player in Maryland’s Class of 2025. In his high-school run, he paired strike-throwing, a heavy workhorse reputation, and big-game poise, helping St. John’s win three state titles. He already made his collegiate debut in 2026, and his fit hinges on whether that command-and-competitiveness translates quickly against college bats.
