UNC walk-on Jackson Watkins is a beloved depth guard, not a stat-sheet star
Jackson Watkins is a North Carolina guard whose value comes more from role reliability, program fit, and energy than box-score production: his listed career college output is modest, with ESPN showing just 0.6 points, 0.3 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game, and Proballers noting a career-high of 3 points in 2022.[2][1] The differentiator is his developmental path—he moved from UNC JV to the varsity roster and has earned a spot in a demanding program, which signals toughness, buy-in, and coach trust.[4][9] He looks like a culture fit and practice asset, especially for teams needing an accountable, low-ego guard.[4][9]
