Brandon McThay brings veteran guard steadiness and a proven scoring touch for Lamar
McThay has been a reliable backcourt contributor for Lamar, with ESPN listing him at 7.2 points, 2.1 assists, and 41.1% shooting, while RealGM shows a career NCAA line of 8.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, underscoring a balanced, low-drama guard profile.[6][2] His differentiator is functional shot-making and playmaking rather than flashy volume: he has produced double-digit scoring nights, including a 22-point game against Sam Houston, and earlier Lamar notes showed him as a capable secondary scorer.[1][3] If you want a guard who can score efficiently, handle some creation, and fit into a team concept without demanding the offense, he makes sense.[1][2][6]
