Vincent Shavers Jr. is Nebraska’s tone-setting linebacker with proven production and rising leadership upside
In the 2025 season, Vincent Shavers Jr. started 12 of 13 games and posted 61 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble, then entered 2026 as Nebraska’s most experienced returning linebacker and a likely defensive centerpiece. He fits because he plays with violence, flashes blitz and turnover punch, and has the durability to handle a heavy workload; the one caution flag is that he dealt with a thumb injury late in 2025, but he still kept producing through it. Strong fit for a team that wants an active, physical, high-IQ field general on the second level.
