Skyler Matheson brings local grit and versatile football roots to Western Carolina
Skyler Matheson, a Robbinsville, N.C. product listed as a 6-foot, 220-pound tight end, fits the Catamounts as a tough, versatile in-state piece with a football background that includes passing for 1,093 yards, rushing for 1,694 yards and scoring 22 rushing touchdowns in high school. His profile suggests a player who understands physical football and can help in multiple ways, but publicly available current college production is limited, so the real draw is developmental upside, local familiarity, and blue-collar competitiveness rather than splashy stat-leader numbers.
