Dual-Threat QB with HS Pedigree, Limited College Impact at South Alabama
Matt Floyd, a mobile dual-threat quarterback from Milton High (FL), impressed in high school with 1,711 passing yards and 14 TDs as a junior (54.6% completion), plus 1,000 yards and 10 total TDs as a sophomore, earning honor roll nods. At South Alabama, his college career has been underwhelming—802 career passing yards, 0 TDs, and 10 INTs per ESPN stats—after minimal action at USF (538 yards, 0 TDs, 7 INTs in 2012-13). A raw athlete with rushing upside but turnover woes and depth chart battles; intriguing developmental project for teams needing QB depth, not immediate starters.
