Mercer’s Austin Starrett brings a lean, disruptive edge to the defensive front
Austin Starrett is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound redshirt freshman defensive lineman at Mercer who gives the Bears a youthful, high-upside body on the edge. Mercer’s roster lists him out of Franklin County HS and ESPN still identifies him as a defensive lineman, but publicly available game production is limited, so the appeal is more about projection than box-score flash. If you want a developmental DL with length, energy, and room to add mass, he’s a worthwhile monitor.
