D’Marious Hicks brings defensive-back experience and secondary leadership to Alcorn State
D’Marious Hicks stands out as a defensive backs coach/DB presence with clear secondary chops: reports from Port Gibson High credit him with helping a unit produce four interceptions and multiple pass breakups, while his background includes leading a 10-4 team and contributing as a dual-threat quarterback with 800 passing yards and 1,087 rushing yards in that season[9]. For a team, the appeal is his defensive-minded football IQ, play recognition, and likely communication skills in the back end—more of a trusted field general than a pure stat-chaser[9].
