Winthrop’s Reliable 6'1" SS with Power-Contact Blend and High-Intensity Drive
Noah Cox, Winthrop’s 6'1", 195-lb shortstop (2005-born), stands out as a right-handed hitter with a rare blend of contact consistency and emerging power for an infielder, backed by his solid defensive range at SS [1]. While specific 2026 season stats aren’t fully detailed in available reports, his 10-8 loss to The Citadel on April 8, 2026, hints at competitive resilience in high-stress games [2]. Cox’s differentiators include his physical maturity, right-right profile (R/R), and an intensity level that elevates team energy—traits scouts value for late-inning reliability. With no known injury history and a personality marked by grit, he’s a strong fit for teams seeking a versatile, high-floor infielder with upside.
