Texas Southern's Steady Veteran Guard with Solid All-Around Production
Derrick Bruce, the 6-3 Texas Southern Tigers guard, delivers reliable career averages of 8.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game at 37.9% FG, showcasing his gritty, high-energy playstyle as a former Oregon State signee who transferred to anchor the Tigers' backcourt. His differentiator is veteran poise and defensive intensity—honed from Mt. Baldy League MVP honors in high school—making him a low-turnover facilitator ideal for teams needing a tough, experienced combo guard who elevates in SWAC battles without demanding the spotlight.
