Trey Lathan is Kansas’ all-around linebacker anchor with big-play range
Lathan was Kansas’ 2025 leading tackler and earned All-Big 12 honorable mention after posting 86 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, five pass breakups, an interception, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble in 12 starts.[3][12] What makes him valuable is the complete profile: he plays with consistent production, sharp tackling efficiency, and enough coverage awareness to affect the passing game, not just the box score.[3][12] He also brings proven Big 12 experience and a reputation for immediate impact after a strong first season in Lawrence.[3][9]
