UAB’s tackling machine and defensive heartbeat
Marvin Burdette is the kind of linebacker every coach notices fast: a high-volume tackler with elite instincts, nose-to-ball urgency, and proven production at UAB. In the 2012 season, he set school records with 157 tackles in a season and 24 in a game, finishing his Blazers career with 406 tackles, the most in school history. He also added 27 tackles for loss across four seasons, showing he wasn’t just piling up clean-up stops—he could disrupt plays too. If you want a relentless inside linebacker who brings leadership, toughness, and sideline-to-sideline effort, Burdette fits beautifully.
