Portland State’s steady, hard-nosed frontcourt anchor
In her Portland State career, Pia Jurhar built a reputation as a durable, high-motor forward who crashed the glass, protected the rim, and gave the Vikings reliable senior leadership; by 2019 she had played in 118 games, ranked fourth all-time at Portland State with 103 blocks, and 10th all-time with 551 rebounds. She wasn’t a flashy scorer, but she brought toughness, experience, and winning habits—exactly the kind of glue player coaches love when they need rebounding, defensive presence, and consistency.
