Portland State’s Intense, Size-Backed LB with Elite Tackling and Leadership
Steffen Jacobsen, a senior linebacker for the Portland State Vikings, stands out for his rare combination of good size, elite tackling precision, and intense leadership on the field. Though early roster notes cautioned he 'needs to stay healthy,' Jacobsen has matured into a reliable, high-intensity defender who consistently leads the Vikings in key defensive plays. His personality traits—driven, accountable, and team-first—make him a cultural anchor. In the 2024 season, he recorded 16 tackles and 4 stops, showcasing his ability to read plays and shut down runs. For teams seeking a LB who brings both physical dominance and mental grit, Jacobsen is a top-tier fit. His differentiator isn’t just stats—it’s the fire he brings every snap.
