Billy Bates Brings a Defensive-Renewal Profile to Tennessee Tech
Billy Bates is the kind of linebacker whose value goes beyond box scores: if he earns snaps at Tennessee Tech, the draw is usually toughness, assignment discipline, and special-teams-minded physicality rather than flashy counting stats. Publicly available roster info does not provide current college production or rankings for a Tennessee Tech LB by that name, so the cleanest read is that he should be evaluated as a developing depth or role player whose fit depends on whether a team wants a hard-nosed, dependable defender with upside to grow into more responsibility.
