LSU’s Gant Petty: a mystery-name on the roster, not a stat-sheet star
I couldn’t verify a current LSU football player named Gant Petty in the available roster and news data, which is a red flag that this may be a name mix-up or an outdated reference. LSU’s listed long snappers in the 2026 roster data include Jonathan Ferguson and Silas Hall, so if you meant one of them, the fit question changes fast: long snapper value comes from consistency, leverage, and error-free special teams work more than box-score stats. If you want, I can help identify the correct player and turn that into a clean scouting-style blurb.
