Sitkowski’s More a Coach Than a QB Now — and Illinois Is Better for It
Artur Sitkowski is no longer providing on-field quarterback production for Illinois; he transitioned from backup QB to staff member and, in 2026, is the Illini’s quarterbacks coach. As a player, his best Illinois moment was the 2021 opener, when he went 12-of-15 for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns in relief, but his college career was also shaped by inconsistency and a broken-arm injury that ended his 2021 season. Why care? He brings firsthand Big Ten quarterback experience and a player-to-coach feel that can help develop a room, even if he’s no longer a roster fit as a quarterback.
