Western Kentucky LB Derrick Smith brings proven tackling production and playmaking flashes
Derrick Smith has established himself as a productive Western Kentucky linebacker, with 104 solo tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 interception listed in his career stat line. What makes him intriguing is the blend of steady run support and occasional disruptive upside—he looks like a dependable, assignment-sound defender who can still create splash plays when opportunities come. For a team, that profile fits a linebacker who can handle volume, bring physicality, and add some turnover potential without needing the defense to revolve around him.
