Wisconsin’s Paul Standring: a steady special-teams piece with a quirky Badger backstory
Paul Standring is best known as a reliable Wisconsin special-teams contributor, with a Badgers history that includes backup punter duties and a memorable 31-yard fake-punt catch against Ohio State in 2007. Reliable roster and stat pages confirm his Wisconsin ties, while old team coverage paints him as a versatile, high-energy teammate with a sense of humor and workmanlike edge. If you want a punter who brings consistency, field-position value, and some unexpected athleticism, he fits the mold; if you’re looking for a flashy stat-sheet star, this is more grinder than highlight reel.
