Elgin Bennett is a speed-and-pop spark for CSUB in 2026
In the 2026 season, Elgin Bennett became a high-impact outfielder for Cal State Bakersfield, appearing in 54 games and leading the Roadrunners with 14 stolen bases while also ranking second in slugging percentage (.477), triples (3), home runs (6), and hit-by-pitches (13). He hit .265 with a .389 on-base percentage, which hints at a more complete offensive profile than a simple bat-only profile. The real selling point: he brings a disruptive, gap-to-gap skill set, game-changing speed, and enough extra-base thump to keep pitchers honest.
