Casey Kautzman brings proven leg strength, but health history keeps the file a little spicy
Kautzman is a Butte, Montana native who has already shown he can handle real kicking duties at Montana State, going 4-for-7 on field goals and 19-for-22 on PATs in the 2023 season, with a long of 44 yards; he also earned a special-teams weekly honor in 2025 and later moved on to Montana Tech, where he was again recognized as an all-conference kicker/punter. The big differentiator is versatility plus local-guy toughness, but the caution flag is injury history: he missed the entire 2024 season after getting hurt in fall camp. If you need a multi-phase specialist with upside and some proven clutch range, he’s interesting; if you need absolute week-to-week certainty, the durability question matters.
