Austin Johnson is a steady Southern Illinois leg with proven touchback power
Austin Johnson has been a reliable specialist for Southern Illinois, with ESPN listing him as a place kicker and showing career marks of 55.8% on field goals and 94.6% on extra points, while SIU notes he has handled kickoff duties and long-range attempts. In 2016, he flashed real range with makes from 48, 45, and 51 yards and averaged 60.1 yards on 62 kickoffs, forcing 19 touchbacks. The fit question: if your team wants a kicker with kickoff pop, live-leg confidence, and some long-distance upside, Johnson brings the kind of special-teams value coaches notice fast.
