Cal Poly DL with Proven JUCO Pedigree and Tackling Tenacity
Richard Watkins, a two-year nose guard transfer from Moorpark College to the Cal Poly Mustangs, brings battle-tested experience with 65 tackles across his JUCO career (32 as a sophomore, 33 as a freshman), positioning him to compete for snaps in 2020 against top interior linemen like Pouono Faaagi. His Hudl highlights showcase explosive first-step quickness, relentless motor, and gap-plugging strength at 6'4", 250 lbs—ideal for run-stopping defenses. No notable injury history; his high-intensity playstyle makes him a reliable, physical fit for teams needing blue-collar DL depth who can wear down opponents.
