FGCU’s 5’8” Steal Leader & Double-Double Dynamo in Historic 23-7 Season
Milan Schimmel, the 5’8” Oregon-born guard for FGCU, delivered a breakout 2022-23 season averaging 14.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.5 steals per game while starting all 30 games and recording five double-doubles[7]. Her elite defensive intensity (2.5 steals) and versatile scoring make her a rare fit for teams needing a high-energy, all-around guard who thrives in pressure moments[7]. Though she played for the women’s team during FGCU’s most successful season ever (23-7 record), her injury history is minimal, and her personality blends relentless competitiveness with team-first leadership[3][7]. You should care because she’s a stat-leader in steals and rebounds for her size, and she’s a perfect fit for any team seeking a dynamic, reliable guard who elevates team performance beyond the box score[3][7].
