Momodou Mbye brings proven ball production and veteran stability to Rhode Island's secondary
Mbye profiles as a high-IQ, playmaking defensive back with a long résumé at Rhode Island: he was a team captain in 2019, accumulated 193 tackles, 9 interceptions, and 23 pass breakups across 44 games, and even showed takeaway ability with multiple interception games during his Rams career. His differentiator is veteran reliability plus ball skills, making him valuable for teams that want a disciplined DB who can diagnose routes, tackle consistently, and create turnovers rather than just rack up coverage stats.
