Mercer LB Alex Ferry: depth-piece experience with special-teams utility
Alex Ferry has shown usable college depth for Mercer, appearing in nine games and making four tackles as a defensive back, which points to a player comfortable in assignment football and valuable in multiple roles[5]. The clearest differentiator is versatility: he has experience on the back end but is listed here at linebacker, suggesting a coachable, adaptable piece rather than a pure stat-sheet star[5]. For a team, he fits best as a hardworking rotational defender or special-teams contributor who can learn quickly and handle physical, detail-driven snaps[5].
