D.J. Harris brings proven tackling pop to HCU’s linebacker room
In the 2024 season, D.J. Harris was a tone-setting linebacker for Houston Christian, finishing tied for fourth in the Southland with 94 tackles while adding 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, eight quarterback hurries, one interception and one pass breakup. He’s the kind of downhill defender who shows up in the run game, flashes real backfield disruption, and can tilt a drive with sheer activity. At 6-foot, 220 pounds, he looks like a smart fit for teams needing an experienced, physical, high-motor LB who plays with urgency and production rather than just good optics.
